Our App Design Services Process

Initial consultation, scoping and proposal
We typically start with an initial consultation to discuss every detail of your project, the timeframe and the budget you have allocated for the features and objectives you want to achieve. We generally need to discuss what your company does, your industry and target audience, what features your app will have, and what your design preferences are like. Based on this, we will then advise on the best options available and provide a proposal outlining the services to be provided to allow you to achieve your goals within the timeframe and budget you have allocated for the project!

Moodboards and wireframes
Based on the information provided and our research during the discovery stage, once you are happy to move forward, we will typically begin working on moodboards to propose creative directions that would work for your project specification. These moodboards typically include suggestions on fonts, colours, styling and some examples of the proposed styles being used (for example a screen of your app designed following that style). Once the creative direction is agreed on, we then begin working on grayscale wireframes to derive the overall navigation and the structure of screens based on the contents and user flow. If available, we also request access to analytics information and incorporate the findings based on the analysis into the wireframes to optimise the user journey in line with the data.

Design concepts and revisions
Once we implement the feedback received for the wireframes and finalise the grayscale design prototype we will then move to create draft design concepts for a few of the screens in line with the approved wireframes and the creative direction chosen based on the moodboards. At each stage of the design process, we typically include two rounds of revisions, and once the draft designs are finalised we then proceed to create the designs for all of the remaining screens within the scope in line with the approved app design.

Documentation and delivery
Once all of the designs are finalised we will then share the development-ready design (Figma) files. Your developers are able to get all relevant styling and design information from the design (Figma) files shared, as well as export all of the assets used in the designs. Should you or the developers have any questions or require further assistance using the designs we will be more than happy to help, if necessary also sharing instructions or recordings.
