Want to know more about what we do? Have a general query? We’ll always do our best to help:
We typically start with an initial consultation to discuss every detail of your project, the timeframe and the budget you have allocated for the features and objectives you want to achieve. We generally need to discuss what your company does, your industry and target audience, what CMS is best suited to your business, what features you need, and what your design preferences are like. Based on this, we will then advise on the best options available and provide a proposal outlining the services to be provided to allow you to achieve your goals within the timeframe and budget you have allocated for the project!
Based on the information provided and our research during the discovery stage, we will typically begin working on moodboards. Once you are happy to move forward, we'll propose creative directions that would work for your project specification. These moodboards typically include suggestions on fonts, colours, styling and some examples of the proposed styles being used. These can be, for example, a few sections of your website designed following that style. Once the creative direction is agreed on, we then begin working on grayscale wireframes. This will help to derive the overall navigation and the structure of pages based on the contents and sitemap. If available, we also request access to analytics information and incorporate the findings based on the analysis into the wireframes to optimise the user journey in line with the data. The template option is most suitable if you already have a design file that you’d like to follow. Or, if it is important to get the website built in the shortest amount of time and at the lowest budget. However, if you want to have a unique high end website design that’s fully tailored to your brand and product we certainly would recommend having at least some of the most important pages custom designed (e.g. home page, product landing page etc). If you already have a website and are looking for a redesign the custom designed option will be most suitable.
Once we implement the feedback received for the wireframes and finalise the grayscale design prototype we will then move to create a draft design concept for one of the pages (typically the home page) in line with the approved wireframe for the page and the creative direction chosen based on the moodboards. At each stage of the design process, we typically include two rounds of revisions. Once the first page’s design is finalised we will start designing the remaining pages in line with the approved design.
Get in TouchThe approved interface designs are then built pixel-perfect with the CMS platform of your choice, with a further two rounds of edits during the build. All of the pages and templates are optimised for mobile and tablet as standard. The website is typically built on a staging environment and published live after final testing and approval from you. Once live, we are typically on standby for the next few days, ensuring that you have all of the access and instructions necessary to take over the management of the site and address any last-minute issues that may arise. We will also provide screen recordings and instructions on making edits and other aspects of managing the site. Depending on the project requirements, we can also assist with setting up the hosting, speed optimisation and ongoing maintenance of the site going forward.
